I never thought much about owning a Pug. I didn't think they were particularly cute or interesting.
Well, that is until I became the owner of one. Her name is Capi. She's almost nine years old now and I can't imagine not having had her as part of our family.
She was just about 12 weeks old when we got her. She was the cutest thing I ever saw and I couldn't say no. She's nudged her way into my heart and she's there to stay.
As it turns out, not only is she actually very cute, but she is loving and smart. She's really smart. She seems to understand what I am talking about when I talk to her. She cocks her head from side to side and knows when I am planning something fun for her, as she perks up and circles around sometimes getting distracted by her own tail and then just starts chasing it.
She also understands some Italian. Pretty smart for a little American dog I think.
If you have never owned a Pug I'd like to say, don't dismiss them. They do bark a lot, but it's always a friendly bark and they are really happy caring little dogs. I'll bet they will win your heart just like Capi won mine.
